The Alliance Church of Elizabethtown is hiring an Office Manager. This part-time (approximately 25 hours per week) position will support the pastoral staff and church with advanced administrative and customer service skills.
Communication Answer phones during hours of operation. Provide information as needed, refer the call to staff when necessary.Prepare bulletins.Arrange advertisements.Suggest updates to the web siteSupport inter-ministry communicationUpdate Pastoral Staff and Ministry Directors as needed
ActivitiesCoordinate activities Collect informationComplete required reservation/permission forms Allocate church resources and facilitiesUpdate the church calendar.
Facility and EquipmentCoordinate use of equipment by ministriesOversee member borrowing of equipment
Office SupportPrepare analytical spreadsheets and other documents as requested by Pastoral Staff, Ministry Directors, or the Denomination. Maintain Filing systemApprove invoices for paymentEnter invoices into Quickbooks, prepare Accounts Payable checks for the Treasurer’s signature. Generate financial reports for ministries as requiredInteract with the Custodial Team and the Trustees to keep the facility running optimallyParticipate in or chair committees as requestedOrder supplies
Essential Skills:Discretion and Confidentiality is required! AccuracyProficient in Excel, Word, PublisherCustomer Service attitude and skillsAbility to multi taskBasic understanding of budgeting and financial reportingAbility to work autonomously at times, work as part of a team when required, lead others when necessary, make decisions when appropriate
Previous Administrative experience is required. Bookkeeping or light accounting experience requested. Since the incumbent will work with the staff, ministries, and facility of the church, being a regular attender at the church is necessary.
